Hi I'm Craig. I will soon be the proud owner of a D7000 a 35mm f1.8 and 18 -200 f3.5 - 4.5 lens. Apart from phone photos I haven't taken any real photos since using film in my cannon T90.
I'm looking forward to polishing the rust off my skills.
I intend to concentrate initially on atchitectural and landscapes in preparation for an incoming trip to Paris.
Cheers

Hello Graig :action66: and Welcome to AP.. This is a good site to polish up those skills for your trip to Paris.
When you get your camera, post some images in the Forums for cc.

Welcome Craig
I'm a bit like you and still have my Canon A1 in the cupboard but went many years with point and shoots.
Have already learned heaps off this site and been inspired by some of the shots. Envy your trip to Paris but look forward to seeing the results.

Welcome to AP, Enjoy. Also look at getting your hand into some street photography. You will find some wonderful people with amazing character on the streets of Paris, and sometimes they alone, make for some wonderful street portraiture. So along with the architecture and landscapes, try your hand at street photography. You never know what might just present as an amazing opportunity on the streets of the city of romance.

Welcome Craig.
I also am a recent convert to a DSLR, after not using a decent camera for about 20 years.
It's great fun!
regards,
Eric G.
